Services empower individuals with skills and emotional support to remain in their community. A sense of personal worth and a sense of community are the "Freedom Landing" values on which other skills are developed and enhanced. The ability to belong, make choices and decisions through problem-solving are the anticipated outcomes of group and unit participation. Individuals are involved in a variety of activities based on their needs and goals. Activities may include better management of personal hygiene, medical needs, financial planning, interpersonal skills, pre-vocational skills, and utilization of community services.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week
9 am - 1:00 pm (hours may vary for special activities)
Services incorporate quality living arrangements with staff supervision according to the resident's need for support and direction. The level of support provided to consumers will vary according to need. Intensity of contact ranges from weekly visits to daily in-home support. Persons living in the supervised housing are expected to help with the operation and maintenance of the home and to learn to live cooperatively with housemates. The focus is on communication/ interpersonal skills. Staff's role is to facilitate learning of the necessary skills to maintain a home, to assist the person in understanding and managing his/her illness through appropriate treatment, to intervene when necessary, during times of stress, and to appropriately enjoy the resources of the community in which one lives.
Based on need, services provide the individual with knowledge based assistance in daily living skills, which include: management of personal hygiene, cooking, housekeeping, budgeting/financial, and medication monitoring. Community support services are provided to individuals at hours determined by the individual and the facilitator of service. Staff typically visit a minimum of once weekly, and depending on consumer need could visit more frequently
The Wellness and Recovery Community Center provides an opportunity for people to direct their own recovery and advocacy process and to help others develop skills to lead meaningful lives. Services are focused on mental health and substance use disorders and help foster individual growth by having people feel comfortable with themselves, develop a sense of identity with support from others and establish a sense of self-determination.
